Sometimes giving your life for someone you love would be a spontaneous action. A decision based on the moment in and from love. However, the giving of ones life, money or time to those we do not know is truly a sacrifice.
The more difficult sacrifices are loving those deemed hard to love. They may be the estranged relationships in our lives. The very ones whom reject us.It is a sacrifice to keep on loving and not lash out at times. There are many ways to sacrifice in beauty in a world sometimes devoid of it.
I find your question well thought out and hope others ask questions that increase the introspective nature.

I would not call it completely a "sacrifice", but the fact of sharing your life and your freedom with someone for the rest of your life, is a beautiful present to another human being.
Some call it marriage, others a long term commitment. But at the end, it is somehow a sacrifice.

I think that giving your heart, is just as big of a sacrifice, Linty. To truly open up and share your heart with the person that you love, without fear of rejection, is a wonderful thing. So many people, even people who are deeply in love, married, etc., are afraid to open themselves completely to the one person they love most. It's a very scary proposition indeed, to bare your heart and soul to someone, with nothing held back. But, the end result is more than worth it I think! If you can't completely share yourself with the person that you love the most, then your cheating yourself, and them, out of a completely open, honest, fun, and truly loving relationship.
Aside from that, I think I would have to say that time is also a great sacrifice to make, if you care for someone deeply. Not wanting something in return, for taking the time to do something nice for the perso that you love, is a wonderful sacrifice to make.
More times than not, I think that most of the sacrifices we are willing to make for the one that we love, will ultimately be so worth any effort on out part. To have a happy and contented relationship makes it all worthwhile!
Wow, keep the great questions coming!! :)

Giving Up ones Life for someone we love is Noble but to sacrifice a part of you so that someone may Live a better life is better. An Example would be a kidney transplant. Of course , there is also an issue of sacrificing ones happiness so that one is in tune with God and his Teachings is also a noble act.

I think the answer would be your time. When you give up your life for someone, you are giving them all of your time in one gift. But there are uncountable ways you can give fractions of your time - smaller gifts of your life if you will - for another.

Going shopping with my wife during the football game. Just kidding. I don't know, that's a tough question. I guess just always putting others ahead of yourself.
