i am in the middle of taking the head off my stratus and i can for the life on me get the timeing cover off...anyone know how??

It takes several special tools to remove the timing cover halves. Also beware that if the crank and cams are not in the proper positions upon diassembly and reassembly, you will bend valves, causing further damage. IMHO, take it to a professional, this is a very tricky, technical job, and if not done properly, you can do more harm than good. No disrespect intended, just trying to save you money in the long run.

There's a bolt you can't see, but you can feel it with your finger.

Added:
There may be two alignment pins coming thru the cover that have gunk on them, or , the gasket is stuck to the surfaces.

I agree with the one who said hidden bolts. WHATEVER YOU DO...............Do not forget to pin back the tensioner as per the engine manual or you will never get the tensioner pushed back again. Good luck !
