Well, they do have a good message, but they take it to the extremest of extremes.
From a religious standpoint, god created the earth and all it's creatures to be used as WE choose. However, that does not mean we have the right to disrespect nature.
They are entirely against hunting, fishing, taking of an animal's life for any reason - and to push their message, they often resort to lies and deceit! For example, anyone read their latest comic book attempt at publicity? My kid brought one of these home from school "Your Daddy is a Killer" - on it showed a typical fisherman father, covered in blood and SKINNING THE FAMILY PET! I had to have a long talk with him about the difference between a pet and the food on his plate!
The truth is, most hunters and fishermen know more about the wilderness, more about the animal inhabitants present, and do more for overall conservation efforts then these PETA members EVER will. We are not out to viciously murder animals, and even though we take a few for food, and in some cases trophies too, we give far far more back to the environment than what we take!
So PETA's core values of respecting nature, I wholeheartedly agree with! Their extremist stance on this issue however is entirely unrealistic, and their propaganda is laughable!

At a horse show I was in there were two PETA members who were ripping fly masks off horses because they thought they were blindfolds. They threw stuff into the arena to spook the horses hoping their riders would fall off. One horse (a previously abused one) spooked so badly and went through the rail with my friend. They untied horses from trailers because it was 'cruel' to leave them tied - that was a disaster.
They take it way too far. Some are hypocritical. They have some good intentions, but somehow those intentions got twisted.
They also target children according to a spokesperson.
I've only met maybe one decent PETA member.

PETA seems to be made up of crazy people. Sometimes they act like a bunch of terrorists. They have thrown paint onto people, assaulted people and other insane things. They have appeared nude too. Talk about laughs. Too bad they really are not funny. Peta is really an embarrassment.

I think a summer spent on a Nebraska cattle ranch should be a requirement for anyone working or volunteering at PETA.
They have a preposterous conceit about how much more ethical they are than other people. For example, I'm a lifelong dog lover, and I don't know ANY dog person who respects PETA. Woof.

A good idea in theory, but taken too far by protesting circuses, annoying because off the whole vegetarian thing(they even want DOGS to be vegans, which is unhealthy for them), and the whole fur and leather protest thing. I do think it is wrong to do it, but its not like I'm going to throw out my mom's old fur coat, or my pretty leather purses, because whats the sense? They're going to be made anyways. And i think they crossed the line when they killed all those dogs a few years back, but I know that's not all of them, just a few. They have done a lot of good, but they have to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em

they have some good intentions but are hypocrites too.. for example they frown on people wearing leather (which comes from a waste product due to cows slaughtered for food) BUT its ok to wear synthetics that come from the raping of the planet and produce toxins into the environment and ultimately kill thousands more animals
they frown on eating meat but are ok with eating of corn (for example) however forests were cleared to grow corn (you can raise cattle in forested areas) and thousands of animals are killed so the corn crop is "protected"
they dont even want people to wear WOOL however if WOOL were encouraged sheep would be kept alive because wool would be worth more than lamb meat....
they say COTTON is ok - but a whole sea (and the fish in it ) were sacrificed to grow cotton (the ARAL SEA)
they say all animal life is important but drive around in vechicles with dead bugs on the front...
so basically they have good intentions but are not totally living up to what they preach
also they are a bit too over the top with some things so the public doesnt beleive them when they say or do legitamate things

I think they stick their noses in places it does not belong. There are places where they could do good, but they don't seem to want to help there. They could have went in after the hurricane and helped a lot of animals, but they would rather have a fit over an animal being used for testing a drug that could help with cancer. Not all research animals are abused like they tell!!! That's my 2 cents worth! Thank you.

They overreact. One year at my fair, they were protesting and not letting us take the cows to the show ring. It's like they don't realize when to stop. They take a single incident and amplify it. Our fair doesn't accept animals showing signs of abuse and I know for a fact none of the kids abuse their animals. Saying that it is cruel to tie up a cow is like saying it's cruel to put a baby in a playpen so it doesn't wander the house.

The head of PETA was asked once: if her mothers life could be saved by sacrifcing one mouse would she allow it. She said no.
