The US currency was designed during the period of George Washington. It's a pretty well known fact that George Washington was a member of an ancient brotherhood called the "Masons". The latin slogon on the pyramid is actually the slogan used by the brotherhood. You can research more about the Masons on the internet.

The USA has no official language, although I think it should be english for expediency.
Back in colonial times, Latin was the default "educated" language, i.e. scientists learned language. Today, english has become that language (most international business is conducted in english, even if no english speaking countries are represented). They used Latin back then because it was universal.

There is not an official national language for the US. That is a major controversy given all of the non-English speaking people living in the country.

Actually, the US has no official language as other contries do. This why you hear so many other languages and see many products with spanish or french printed on them. However, there is a movement to make English our official language. Check out the link below:

heck why do you see areas having to print election materials in 20 languages? Why do you need an interpreter to go to 7-11? We wouldn't want to force anyone to actually speak our language to live here now would we?

white people are really impressed by latin because of the traditions of the church. the catholic church used to use latin exclusively. some of the latin phrases on the bill are derived from roman works, like "annuit coeptis" which was inspired by the aeneid.
that's why.
