We are having a moving sale, and I say that nobody wants VHS tapes anymore. But my girlfriend says that there is. What are your thoughts? Would you buy VHS tapes from a yard sale? Cheap of course.

If I saw something I can't find on DVD, yes. I still have a VHS and an adapter that makes it so I can copy them to DVD.

Sure. Why not ? Esp if the price was right & esp if the movie's hard to find. Just cuz peeps are buying DVDs doesn't mean that you can't buy VHS either. I coulda bought Kill Bill vol 1 & 2 for $3 each but I didn't. I didn't think I'd like those movies but I regret not buying them. I bought 5 VHS for $10 @ Wal Mart. Pretty much that's $2 each. Brand new too. Good deal. Would YOU still buy VHS ?

After checking out your A's.. why don't you call it a "VCR" ? Easier than typing out "VHS player" :P

VHS tapes have practically gone the way of the dinosaurs obviously. A lot of people who haven't gotten DVD recorders still record on blank VHS tapes though, mainly non-techie folks. I've had my DVD player(s) for at least 5 years.

no with the invention of dvd players etc, we had 3 bookcases filled crammed wit, clunky vhs tapes, and were faling too the floor, etc, so went and got a dvd player and converted the tapes over to dvds, and, got one or 2 of them metal, small, storage cases at, home deopt, convetrted the tapes, into too storage cases that, can be storeed in a closett, and gone are them clunky old vhs tapes, we bought little paper sleves for the dvds, and, made a special file in the computers dat base systems etc, and well our book cases are free of them old junke tapes etc!!

I have a VHS player for the old VHS that I have.... but I don't buy them anymore. I only buy DVDS

But I know people like my aunt and my grandmother that don't like DVDs so they still buy VHS... maybe you could get lucky and find some people like them!!

If it was a movie that I really wanted but couldn't find on DVD...YES!
Also, if it was cheap enough and I hadn't seen it yet I might give it a whirl.
If you mean BLANK tapes...the answer is of course I would buy them. Not everyone has a DVR.

I buy 2nd hand kids VHS all the time. My son watches things until they wear out, so its cheaper to replace them on used VHS

We do, sometimes. We still have a VHS player that the kids use. If there are cheap kids movies, yes. Anything that my husband and I would watch, no. (We have a home theater for that!)
