Is your firewall on?
Is your antivirus stopping it?
Is your Yahoo pop-up blocker on?

If you do not temporarily disable the Yahoo pop-up blocker, you won't see any message regarding problem loading.

I have WindowsXP Home. Before I download or install anything new, I create a "system restore" point so I can return if I mess things up.

Then, I temporarily disable firewall and pop-up blocker.
Download to save to the desktop.
After download, immediately enable firewall and pop-up blocker.
Strongly suggest you run a scan.
Then install from the desktop.

Takes a few more minutes, but it's better than trying to get rid of a virus or messing up your system.

ok, positioned the abode windows CD into the CD tray and reboot the pc. Boot from CD and hit R while further directly to flow into the restoration console. while the console has finished loading type chkdsk /f What this does is verify the HDD for errors and proper them. this would be reason via many stuff which includes no longer having a appropriate anti-virus and getting contaminated to the element the place the disk does not artwork proper. chkdsk /f won't delete something substantial that may no longer conflicting including your HDD so your issues would be secure! each little thing is okay. do exactly what I suggested. even so.... positioned your HDD into an exterior HDD enclosure and connect it to a distinctive pc visit run and charm in CMD and hit enter. type the comparable concern chkdsk /f this ought to very almost easily restoration your problems.
