A doctor should be putting this in words that you can understand,if you heard this from a doctor or worse read it and had to ask here that is so unnacceptable . Please make a list the next time you go of all the things you would like answered or explained. Ask if there is a hormonal presence in the endometrial layer causing disfunctional periods. Ask if this is producing or results in infertiliy,if you want to know this, ask if it is a precurser or at all indicating cancerous or precancerous cellular growth. This is his job whether he is busy or not , Just tell him you have a few questions to go over with him. If you are in a lot of pain I am sorry., I knew someone with this and it ewas very painful. I am a nurse, too . But you deserve the attention of your doc.

This isn't really a question so I have no idea what you want to know so I will just tell you about it. This disorder is when a woman doesn't ovulate and doesn't have a luteal phase (the time period after ovulation until your period arrives...which causes the uterine lining, endometrium, to prepare for a possible pregnancy). It is characterized by irregular periods. It is a cause of infertility.

Treatment is a complete workup to find out why there is no ovulation. Drugs can be given to cause ovulation to assist in attaining a pregnancy.
