He past gas and he had blood all on the couch.. He ran to the bathroom was there for about 10 minute then came out. What causes hemroids to flare up and besides the wipes what can he do to help. Should he go to the doctor. It scares me when it happens!

OK guys don't like doctors messing with their butts, But solving the problem is a relatively quick and easy procedure done on an out patient basis.
My surgeon asked me prior to the operation if i read whist doing a BM . I said yes he said don't anymore. and i haven't.
He used the rubber band method on me: take a small rubber band , stick it on the end of a long surgical ring expander, insert into rectum , in an open position place over roid, release . Rubber band stops blood flow to roid.
roid passes out of body in time. side benefit : a prostate exam

Well my husband also has this problem and has never had surgical treatment.

When they flare up he sits in a warm tub with Epsom salts for 30 or 40 minutes every eve. until they are better. This is commonly called a Sitz bath and was Dr. recommended.

He also only uses moist wipes in the bathroom. And when they flare up is usually
after bout of loose bowels. So Imodium is good to keep on hand to avoid this problem.

He may need to see a proctologist if the bleeding happens often.

Good luck with a solution.

A 'roid is caused by a vein that pops out of line. Basically what happens is that the vein can form a clot, which is ok. It is natural for 'roids to bleed and is actually a good thing, unless it doesnt clot back up. Let them bleed unless you cant get it to stop. When you feel nauseated or light headed, then you need to be rushed to the hospital immediatly because you can bleed to death. They are a fact of life and many men and women get them.

Nah, just get a bottle of bleach and soak them in that for 10 mintues, then lightly rub with 110 grit sandpaper until said sandpaper is covered with flesh. Then, slam the roids in a car door about 15 times. If still bothersome, repeat up to 3 times.
