My parents gave them each an indian name while i call my rabbits by da name i gave them both when i first bought them...da problem is they dont respond to their original names.....plus my parents speak to them in an indian language. It's annoying.....

My bunny responds when i call her. She will come hopping to me like a dog. And i disagree with those people who say rabbits are dumb. Rabbits are definitely not dumb.
TapeMan says that a pet rabbit will run away when you put it outside; that's outrageous. I bring my bunny to the park all the time, and i just sit by the tree and read a book while she hops around happily.
Sometimes she wanders away, chasing a butterfly or something, but she will never wander too far away from me. Mostly she loves sitting by me and just enjoying the outdoors.

If you want them to respond to the names you gave them, pay more attention to them and use their names a lot. Give them something they like or have fun with them while using their names. They will still respond to the Indian names too, but there's no harm in that.

Rabbits don't really tend to listen to humans at all, other than be scared of them. I don't like the idea of a pet rabbit because rabbits will never really befriend humans like dogs or cats do. For example, if you put your pet rabbit outside it would most likely run away...never to return. Meaning you've basically captured a rabbit and are holding it in a jail.

rabbits only answer at feeding time, l've had many rabbits they do what they want they usually don't even know they have a name but they know your voice and they know who feeds them.
