Good question. I'm actually looking for movies that are like Lynch too.

I went to a David Lynch screening where he was interviewed, and he said that he likes the "moods" of the movies of the directors Bergman, Fellini, and Hitchcock.

According to the films I've seen, If you haven't seen them, I'd reccomend the Hitchcock classics "Rear Window", "Psycho," and the recent independant film "Brick," which supposedly has some Lynch influences in it.

Well...:)) You can try Alfred Hitchcock's movies...But: A Master is a Master. Hitchcock and Lynch are unique. But...you can watch again Blue Velvet, Dune (of course. Do not miss it). Mullholland Drive, Lost Highway...I guess I am making a list for those not Lynch fans. Enjoy it!

WOW only 2 people understand what you are asking, silly huh? Well anyways anything from Jim Jarmish is good, (i hope i spelled his last name right), Lynch is very different from other directors, so it is hard to find others out there. But, if you can find it check out a site on line called "the monkey room behind the closet" you might find something there, good luck.

it is a lengthy-shot wager yet i'm guessing that anybody who's a 'authentic fan' of David Lynch probally 'thinks' he's tremendous or why else ought to they be a 'authentic fan'? kwim? no one is gonna say "i'm a real fan yet I hate his video clips"... LOL! rather obvious what the solutions must be it is probally why no human being is answering.... :) peace

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me - very very weird, but I still liked it.

Dune - loosely based on Frank Herbert's book of the same name. I really really liked this one, even though a lot of people hated it.

Blue Velvet - with the very lovely Isabella Rossalini

Try Kim Ji-Wun's "A Tale of Two Sisters," Takashi Miike's "Gozu" (heck, many of his movies might fit your bill) and Shinya Tsukamoto's "Tetsuo."
