Dear fellow member,

Dell is the way to go for budget student prices.
You can get one for under $450.

Kind Regards,
Ben

I know when my son started university last year and wanted a laptop he compared everything out there and wanted it all for what he could for his money in his laptop and ended up with a Dell Inspiron and then I got one too with upgrades. It was the best for gaming and speed and had a 17 inch monitor - not sure if this fits into your price range but maybe something else in the line does (since this was over a year ago now). But would still go with the Dell Inspiron's

I own a Toshiba & I swear by it! I got the most "bang for my buck", so to speak. I was looking at HP, but they were a bit too pricey for my budget. I got all the same features for $300.00 (US) less. That savings paid for extra gadgets & necessities - like a printer & an optical mouse.

I really like Dells. I really like them. Macs are also good but some people don't like them 'cause you could never use windows on them but now you can! If you get one ask. You can get Microsoft word and some other programs on them.
