people in the Czech Republic do speak English as well....:)...otherwise all that advice above is quite ok. And yes the train would be the best option. Also, you can access the schedules on line. Let me give you a link:

By train.
Actually I was exactly in Ceske Budejovice once. And I went to Austria by train from there.
Do this:
Go to the train station in Ceske Budejovice. Go to a ticket window there. Ask the person: "Sprechen Sie Deutsch?"
If they say, no, then they will probably point to you someone who speaks German. When you go to this person, write this down and give it to them:
"Ich will von Ceske Budejovice bis nach Salzburg. Koennten Sie mir einen Fahrplan druecken lassen? Wo und wann werde ich umsteigen muessen?"
I think, hopefully, if the person gets this, then the person will print with the computer for you a plan which will have where you must get off one train and wait for another train, and then what train you must get on and when it comes.
If that doesn't work:
Go to one of the private youth hostels in Ceske Budejovice and ask to speak to the manager of it. Ask the manager how to get to Salzburg by train. Probably, they will even call the train station to find out how for you to do this. I think they would.
If that doesn't work:
Ask any young person (younger than 30) in the train station who looks intelligent and who looks nice, if they speak English. If they say yes, and if they look nice, then ask them to help you with your problem. Many Czech young people are very nice and are happy to help you, and speak good English.

You can get there by train easily. There is one direct train daily, in the evening. During the day you can get there if you change trains on the way. Click on the link and you'll see the entire train schedule for this route.

the least puzzling way is, in case you shift the practice in Salzburg or Prague. Than you are able to shift purely one time. inspite of the undeniable fact that the progression will take over 8 hours. greater perfect to circulate there by applying bus or in basic terms hitch-trekking.
