The people that came to the new world from Europe ,England specifically to the north of what is now the U.S.A. were fleeing religiuos persecution and other things , so they figure that to HAVE this land [U.S.A now] they needed to get rid of the natives and that they did with gusto. In South America the Natives there live freely , in the U.S.A. they are in reservations. It has nothing to do with civilization , on the contrary civilisation is the cause of ,wars ,destructions and the holocaust s in Germany and other northern European countries.

Read about the Indian culture! Their laws were extremely different from what we now call the law of the land.

The Indian culture had a much different lifestyle. It was totally acceptable to murder a member of a different tribe, steal their possessions, kidnap the women and rape them repeatedly. Doing this successfully actually raised that members standing in the tribe. Chiefs rose to this level by being the most successful at pillaging the other tribes.

The Indians tried to apply this standard of their law to the European settlers. When the murders and thefts started the settlers retaliated and an allout bloodbath ensued.

The Indians did have revenge for the killing, thefts, and kidnappings amoung the tribes in their culture and waged many battles because of these things. They tried to fight the Europeans the same way but lost.

Their culture and laws were not condusive to a civilized and peaceful way of life. When the Indians were assimilated into modern culture in the US and became peaceful all the warring stopped.

Firstly, you make it sound like the US should be perfect...that is not the case and insane to even consider.

Throughout history civilization has changed it's views on what is correct or not. The era you are talking about regarding the Indians is a different era than today. There are many questions you could ask about the US being civilized that go into her past...slavery, witch hunts, testing atomic bombs within miles of towns and villages. To each we can only say live and learn and move on. And while your at it, try and forgive not hang onto the mistakes, if you do so you only relive and revive a pain in a new way. The aggression changes feet, what exactly will that accomplish.

It was a war. The settlers wanted farmlands and the "Amerinds" wanted to keep their hunting grounds; Both sides lost people, but the Europeans ultimately won these wars.
The historical "French and Indian War" was started in 1769, before the American nation was formed, and the Indians sided with the French against the English. One could claim that most of the world at that time was "uncivilized".
