Dressing a boy in female bharathanatyam costume?

My 15 year old son is a bharathanatyam student. We are planning to dress him in female bharathanatyam costume for his year end school concert. (he is in a boys only school, so this will add some beauty to the concert). Can somebody give me tips on the wig, dress, makeup and temple jewelery.

I also have a practical problem where we need to colour his palms, fingers and feet and nails in red mehandi....does anybody know of an artificial coloring that could be washed off after the dance? what has to be done with the nails?

Are you in India? I'm in USA, and I am famaliar with that type of dancing. My daughter took lessons in it when she was little, and more recently Nityagrahm dance ashram near Benares (I think that was the name of it). Anyway, she was in Rama plays and Krsna plays when she was little, and we just got her costumes from fabric stores and sewed them up ourselves. They do have these kits that you can buy to paint the palms and feet. I've seen them in East Indian shops in this country. There are people who paint hands and feet for you, for a fee. Aren't there a lot of plays in India where the men play female roles? At any rate, I wish I could see the concert myself. I love Indian dance and music. Good luck, nameste!

rather, it appears like a series-up. except you be responsive to those acquaintances ok, i might reassess. My son had an adventure some years in the past the place he dressed as a woman for a Hallowee'n social gathering. a number of the adult adult males have been going dressed as women. He arrived to the social gathering to realize he became the only one in dress plus all of them called him a fag and gay. of direction, he became overwhelmed on the time and scarred via the incident. Be smart, gown as some character which shows you're a male. D.
