Air. Even though it only had 12 episodes, most of them managed to make me feel sad and it was one the very few shows that made me cry.

Saikano is very sad, you're right.

But honestly, you can't go past "Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien".

It's been number 2 on Animenfo.com 's Top 200 animes for a long while now, and there's a good reason for that: This is a series that grabs you by the heart and doesn't let go for 13 of the most heart-wrenching, melodramatic episodes of television ever produced.

I spent hours watching this thing, getting angrier and sader by the minute. I honestly wanted to punch some of these characters (well, one in particular) to make them wake-up to themselves.

Ah, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien.

So sad.

And so brilliant.

I'd say Chrono Crusade also. It had so much angst and drama, and I just KNEW that everything was going to work out without anyone getting killed. Boy was I wrong.

Wolf's Rain was sad. I was very depressed at the end. I really thought they would all make it to "Paradise."

And even though it was really hard to watch because of the really weird looking characters, I think Kikaider was sad too, mostly the first part.

I cried when I saw the next to the last episode of Pretear was sad cause everybody thought Himeno was dead and they were crying but she lived.

Vampire Princess Miyu had a lot of sad episodes in that series.

Rurouni Kenshin & Gundam Wing also had a lot of sad moments in thier series too.

Sad like horrible or sad like crying? Because the worst anime I ever saw was a show on Nickelodean called Turf War or something. There was only three episodes before it quietly left the station forever.

I would have to say Chrono Crusade. That made me cry at the end when Rosette and Chrono died. And crying isn't something I do normally. It just.. affected me.
