The old catch-phrase that states “I didn’t just fall off of the turnip truck” means that one is not stupid. So what would riding the turnip truck to it’s final destination mean???

It means you'd arrive on time, in the right place with the rest of the turnips.

I believe this phrase dates back to the depression when transportation for many poor ignorant farmers migrating to the city was a free ride on any truck headed in that direction. Most of these people were ignorant in the ways of city life and could be taken advantage of.
