Your doctor should be able to tell you if the baby is eating enough by checking his weight- if he's not getting enough to eat, he'll either lose weight or not gain weight quickly enough. You should see your doctor as soon as possible.

He sounds gassy, a baby will not always eat enough when they have to burp or if they have gas cause they have a full sensation, perhaps it is the formula you are using, two of my kids did not take regular frmula they had to take the lactose free formulas, and at about 3 months (this is against the Dr. rules) I put cereal in their bottles so they were really full little babies. By 6 months they were eating everything! The always slept good, and they are fine normal sized children today. I would also consult the pediatrician to ensure there in not a deeper problem...you can never be to safe!

How old is the baby? If he's old enough, you may wanna try a different kind of food than just formula (im guessing its formula cuz it's measured in ounces). I don't remember the exact age cuz its been a while, but I think by between 6 to 9 months (maybe younger, like I said, I don't remember), you can try regular baby food like carrots and peas. If he's younger, though, like less than 2 months, some kids just aren't good eaters. If you think there's something wrong, I'd ask his doctor to make sure. You can never be too safe with a newborn.

ive read a lot of answers to your question and many are great advice, it really all depends as many have said each baby is different i had a baby girl on april 13th she was 6 wks early and had a horrible eating habbit in the begining she was born 5 lbs 2 ouc and went down to 3 lbs 9 ouc she just wouldnt eat. she was VERY gassy and always seemed to be full but couldnt get enuff at the same time i did as many mothers have and many doctors say no too i started to feed her cereal at 3 wks by spoon maybe a spoon full at a time but it just a little more for her belly. i dont believe in the cereal in the bottle it makes babys lazy too feed, my babys girl did great on the spoon it takes a few trys but babys are fast learners. i also used chammile tea or fennel even ginger helps a babys belly look it up on gentle naturals web site and deciede for yourself if thats what you wish too do. i wish you all the best and kisses to all babys!!

Ahaa!! Something I know a little about! I had the same problem with my newborn a few weeks back, so I tried to alter his eating schedule. I found that bathing him right before bed will arouse him enough to let him finish a full bottle before bedtime (about 10pm) Does your baby eat more often during the day than he does at night? If not, that's what you want to accomplish. Try to get him to eat at more frequent intervals during the day, that way his body doesn't crave extra nourishment at night. I also put a spoon of rice cereal in his bottles, and warm them so it dissolves, and he sleeps much longer stretches. He's 3mos. now, and his ped. said the cereal would not harm him. You can contact me through mail if you want.

Uhhh shouldn't you be asking your pediatrician this question?
On here... you'll get told to feed him live rat's by some prepubescent chuckle head.
Some babies eat more and sleep less and some babies sleep more and eat less. If the baby shows any kind of signs of dehydration or blood in the stool GO TO THE ER immediately!
All babies are different, and you can't train them like pet's. Shouldn't you have known at least some of the scenerio's concerning something as vital as feeding before having him?

Does he spit up alot, is he very gassy? What formula are you using?
Maybe he needs a formula change especially if he is fussy, he may be lactose intolerant! some of my babies have been like that. if you go to the website below and answer the questions it'll suggest a good formula for your baby!

I surely have a 2 twelve months previous who does this too. I say feed them despite the fact that they like, is quite, and make nutrition available on their words. I make breakfast and leave it out for awhile-like a waffle and fruit, dry cereal of he refuses it with milk etc. and he ultimately starts off snacking. do no longer rigidity your toddler to consume yet insist that they take a seat with you at time for supper, that way they nonetheless have administration yet comprehend that that's time for supper. i do no longer enable my son ask for 5 distinctive food at dinner yet I do provide him a determination of two issues that i visit prepare dinner, tha=en if he variations his suggestions i tell him "possibly you would be hungry at breakfast because's what we picked. I do use a manage after dinner as an incentive like a small scoop of organic ice cream or a popsicle if he eats his dinner. That looks to help. do no longer concern approximately it too plenty at this age they're in basic terms too busy to prefer to provide up and consume. I additionally locate that doing something relaxing, like water paints or promising to take a walk and "come across" after dinner or lunch extremely enables too. carry close in there.
