Advantages of mobiles at work:

Keep in touch with administration when not at desk- working away.

Be contacted for any emergency by work or home.

Makes a person feel more comfortable to have mobile to use during break than using office phone etc.

Makes parents feel that no matter where are they can be contacted by their kin and vice versa.

Makes employees feel flexible when moving around here and there in the same building etc.

Easier to contact person anywhere they may be in the work place- if you call the office, at that moment they may not be around to answer it.

Disadvantages:

Not good health wise to be on mobile phone all the time.

Not so reliable if not charged often.

Can interfere with equipment as in hospitals for examples.

Dangerous around places that are inflammable as in petrol stations.

Ipods-

I don't use them but know something about them

Advantages:

Mobile and very light to carry around.

carries hundreds of songs.

Can be fun and entertaining while working in hand work.


Disadvantages:

Can distract some people at work.

May cause a serious problem if someone is trying to warn them of something but they can't hear owing to the music. Thus, involves a safety risk.

Can be dangerous if they can't hear equipment and vehicles moving around them in the area such as a port.
