Why do women pick such rotten boyfriends/husbands?

And why do they stay with them? Ok, so he's a loser and a drunk, beats you and screws around. But you LOVE him. Why?

For the same reason that men stay with women that do the same to them, there are a few reasons, the first is lack of self esteem, - a man/woman will berate, abuse, hit, curse, hold back money, anything to make the victim beleive that they will be unable to make it in the world without the abuser, the second reason is fear, yet again of either being unable to be able to make it in the world alone, or the abuser will threaten and cajole the the victims loved ones will be next in line - they hold the power over the victim, and while they do this the victim feels 'stuck' the third is because the victim thinks that their love will change a person, it doesnt! It only turns the problem into a never ending cycle of verbal, physical or mental abuse, the abuser being sorry, and then the build up to the explosion all over again.....and it doesnt have to be over much.....or anything!

The best thing for a person, when they are going through this is to know that they have support outside the abusive relationship......so that they have an 'out', if and when it comes time that they feel strong enough to leave for good......if a victim feels they dont have the support and understanding of other people they WILL continue to return to the abuser because they dont think they deserve any better. Break the Cycle!

nah!that's depends on many factors:such as the age in which they get married,if they were still young,say below 25,a person at this age is not sure,on wheat her they are making a :"sound"decision,also there;s some circumstances in certain cultures,as arranged marriages,which we must take it account,however if she;s old and experience enough to make a sound conscious decisions,also IF SHE KNOWS,by experienced by staying and dealing with the guy,that he;s a jerk!yet she choose to remain in the relationship,,then.such person is a loser!!!really stupid,specially if she;s old matured enough by now,other then that,if shes a mother of young kids,for example ,she maybe the "vulnerable"type,which finds herself,"binded"by circumstances,for her kids sake,also becos,in some instances,she may be has got nowhere or noone to turn to,and ask for help,she maybe afraid to leave the jerk and lose out in a divorce, or in others financial matter,but if,she has a way out,such as relatives,she has no reason to stay in such relationship,other then possessiveness and masochism..she deserves,all that she;s getting,for some women,not all,who loves all this dramas and such men are nothing but a loser!!and deserves all the abuses,and traumas they are getting

Sometimes when you love somebody you don't see the meanness that is involved in the relationship. You only see the love that you have or had for that person. A lot of women think that they can change their husband or boyfriend back to the way he was when they first started dating. But most times that is very unlikely. I think love is blinding. You see the person you fell in love with not the person that they have become. Some women think that is all they will ever have because that guy has beating it into them and told them that if they leave the will never have anything or anybody else. So the women stay hoping that things will get better. But that is very unlikely too. And other women are just afraid to leave because they are afraid of death.

Maybe they think they deserve to be treated like crap. Or they're afraid they'll never meet anyone better so why take the chance? Or they feel like damaged goods after eing treated so badly. Others stay with a good-for-nothing man because they have children together and in their confused minds they think that it's in the childrens' best interest.

I beleave they like the sex and don't get to really know them as
a person. The best thing to do is get away if he is going to treat you like that! When you are both drinking ,You could not ask for a
better couple. I would say you was both were drinking when you met and sex the time. Been there and done that!

I was once in that situation thank the lord I saw the light but i stayed with him because I thought i could change him and i loved him love is blind but im out of that sitchuation thank god but i was in it for three years and he is gone now i did not leave before because he threatedned to kill me and tried once or twice

Women are nurturing and supportive. They think they can reform the drunkard/felon/drug addict/scoundrel. It gives their life meaning and the worse he is the more she loves him. The man is looking for someone he can dupe into supporting him. He wants kids to keep her from leaving, she wants kids to help moderate his weaknesses. It seldom works.

Because they feel insucure about themselves and don't think they can do any better. But in reality the right guy is just waiting for them to ditch the other guy and come to them. The ones who really care about them.
