ANYTHING Travis Smith. What he does with photography is just awesome, and just amazing. I know we own a ton of albums where Travis has done the cover artwork... Of the ones we own (in the form of purchased CD's), he's done awesome covers and sleeve insert artwork for Nevermore, Opeth, Psychotic Waltz, Overkill, Labyrinth, November's Doom, Sadus, Diabolical Masquerade, Dragonlord, Gordian Knot, Control Denied, Solitude Aeturnus, Winds, Zero Hour, Death, King Diamond (he did Abigail, The Revenge), Anathema, Demons & Wizards \m/... let's see... Devin Townsend, Iced Earth, Age of Silence, and Strapping Young Lad (most recently he did the cover for SYL's "The New Black"). I am probably missing some... He's also done a lot more awesome covers for bands that we don't own any of their albums. Most of them are metal \m/, and his artwork is DEFINITELY metal!!
I was going to make a list of images you should check out, but I don't know what would speak to you more, his more abstract stuff or his more realist/creepy stuff. Just check it all out!

Tool always have some amazing album covers. There's also Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Marillion.
