Money and power. Have any idea how much a cruise missle costs? Any idea who get's that money? It isn't the poor.
You also have to understand the desire of the neo-cons to go to war with Iran or Syria. It is what "The Project for the New American Century", a conservative think tank many of whom's members went on to cabinet level positions within the current administration, were advocating while Clinton was in office. The plan is to rewrite the middle east. First Iraq, then either Iran or Syria. The administration is trying to provoke an open conflict with them to have an excuse to tell the public to generate support for an invasion. Also, the more conflict that occurs abroad, the more fear it generates at home, which they use to stay in power.

Are you twelve or have you not had a history class yet? Look at the history and you see Democrats have put us in every war except for this one and the civil war, which we abolished slavery. The fact that we can irritate goofy liberals is just an additional perk we get out of it.

Neocons don't...The are the mass of the GOP that has dissented from the president's imperialism.
Only the hard core right wingers still appove (note I didn't say support) of Bush's job.
