Does taking soy isoflavones help with scar tissue?

Soy is greatly overrated for almost everything. Scar tissue is the body's way of healing, so to speak of "healing" a scar is nonsense. You can minimize scarring by treating the wound properly and keeping it covered while healing.

Once the scar tissue has formed, you can minimize it by removing it soon after it forms. If it has been there a while, only surgery or laser treatment can help.

You can go to Roex.com, and they have something called,"Epithelial Tissue Support.

It contains MSM, which helps heal scars, and Hyaluronic Acid to build collagen, and to connect tissue.

There is a Canadian website www.herbiesherbs.com. They have the best MSM, called"Linginusul", which relieves the pain, of scars, and helps build new skin, and, hair, nails. You can find MSM Linginusul at the Vitamin Shoppe.com. Now formulas.com have a very good MSM Linginusul.

You can also go to herbs2000.com, and take horsetail, which is Silica, three times a day, to work with scars, and Homeopathy, which is a very diluted mineral.

The two Homeopathic products mentioned are: Arnica 30C, and Calendula 30C, take both three times a day, a 1/2 hour before meals.

These substances are so diluted, that they will not have any adverse effect on your body, I have taken many homeopathic formulas, and sometimes, they are in a small amount of alcohol, in liquid form, or in a milk pellet, that you can put under your tongue.

You can look, and see if Roex.com has MSM Linginusul, which I believe is the most important MSM.

Hope it helps bye.

Sorry about the accident. Hope that your feeling better. The cut it self should have been completely healed by now, however, the scar tissue in the underlying layers needs to be loosened up to give you natural flexibility and appearance. When I had surgery my doctor by advised me to use 'Scarzone' or one of the one over the counter creams of that type as soon as he removed the stitches. Apply in a circular motion with moderate pressure four to six times a day. Not only will this help to loosen the scar tissue but it will help to lessen the appearance of the external scar. It worked wonders for me. We thought that I would have a nine inch by 1/2 inch scar and though mine is nine inches long it is about as thin as a pencil line thanks to the Scarzone product. Also, stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen or a hat. Best of luck.

soy isoflavones are a bio-identical sourse of estrogen. They help during the transition period during menopause and for irregular periods. I doubt the use for scar tissue.
