You're already 2 inches taller than the average American woman. Because of your parents' heights I'd say there is a slim chance you will grow anymore, though it is possible.

I personally was supposed to be 5'10" and I'm 5'4". I stopped growing when I was 10 or 11.

If you're 5'5" at 12, you will most likely continue to grow taller. I was about that height at your age, five years later I'm 5'9". My doctor says I may reach 6' by the time I stop growing. My Mom stopped growing at your age, though. And at roughly the same height.

of course you can! there's no reason to be optimistic that you won't hit a growth spurt soon, or even in a few years. i hit a major growth spurt in 12th grade! don't worry. your body keeps growing until the ages of 20-23. by the time you're 21, i'd say you've done about all the growing youre going to do. our bones fuse together and don't do any more growing the rest of our lives. but you're 12. you've got a long ways to go. get excited though! you're already 5'5'' and you're not even done growing!!!
=)

Girl or Boy? Girls usually peak out at around 13 or 14. They are as tall as they will get... there are exceptions. Boys can continue to grow into their 20's!! Just because your paren't aren't that tall doesn't mean that there is not a hidden gene somewhere that you are carrying from a long-lost relative who WAS tall.

How tall are your grandparents? It sounds like your family is rather petite, but if you're 5'5" at 12, my guess is you're gonna be taller still.

If you are a female and have begun menstrating, then it is doubtful that you will grow much taller. If you are a male, then you might, but given your genetics, maybe, maybe not.
