It can be uncomfortable if you've never done it before. But it's definately worth the effort and the minor discomfort of insertion to be able to go swimming.

It may take a few times to be comfortable with tampons (or even a few periods). I would suggest easing your way into it. Try to use a couple of tampons your first period, and your next period try to use more, and so on. It will become very easy and painless, and you will use (and want to use) them all of the time!tampons ROCK! Try Tampax Plastic Pearl, they are really easy to insert.

it might when you do it for the first time, but as each month goes on, if inserted properly, your body will adjust and it will be a piece of cake. However, what I like to do is where the tampon in the day, and where a pad at nite whils sleeping. but that's just me.

Do this exactly like the directions tell you and it won't hurt. Each month insert the tampon as directed. As you figure out your body you'll find your own technique.

No, it doesn't if you do it right. Just start of with the smallest provided, because you don't need larger at first most likely.
Just put on foot on the toilet seat or bath and push it diagonal to the back.
It may feel a little weird, but you'll get used to it soon. It takes a little exercise, but that's mainly with everything you try first and is unknown to you.
So, don't you worry.

It doesn't hurt at all! maybe the first time if you have it positioned incorrectly it might hurt a little but once you get the hang of it, it is painless! they are the best invention ever! but for your first time try plastic applicators...they're much easier. also don't use a large absorbency. maybe try slimflits or tampons made for teens. Good luck!
