its just a difference. You may find that you go through a phase of not wanting to be so open. I am a very open person usually, but just lately I've felt that I should give holding back a go. Firstly because having a voice gets you in trouble!! How often is it that you know that other people have felt exactly the same about something as you do (usually really angry) and haven't said anything and left it for you to say?
I found this happened quite a bit and it was annoying. So I thought hey to save arguments I'll try to be less opinionated. I started to feel a bit dull. So now I'm just trying to really think, and let others be aware that I have thought about what I'm going to say. As I have been accused of saying things because I feel emotional or whatever! In family arguments they always think that I don't think before I speak which really annoys me, as I feel like one step ahead of the conversation, so I have thought about it. The thing is to us it seems passionate, emotional, caring actually saying how you feel etc. To some other people though it comes across as moany, tantrums, drama queen, emotional retard even.

Absolutely not. You should be your normal emotional self. I am a bit like your brother and mom. I don't really open up either but it usually stems from the fact that I am afraid of what would happen if I did open up. Sometimes the people who seem the most reserved have the strongest emotions. It is horrible that they use your emotional tirades against you in arguments but everyone does that. When you are in combat mode you want to win. So to some people what ever you have said in your life time is fair game. In the future try to be more selective about what you reveal in the heat of the moment.

I may be being unfair, but on the face of it, I would say that you are all a bit difficult to live with! There's you screaming and crying, and them throwing stuff at you, and acting superior. Is this the house of hell you're all living in? I think it would be best for all of you if you avoided arguing with one another at all costs. Avoid contentious subjects and just talk about the weather. One thing I have learned in life is not to argue with family members - it just doesn't pay. Peace be with you!

Only YOU can determine whether or not this is relevant, but I believe that it's possible that your OVERemotional personality might be cramping theirs from coming out. If the possibility exists, then quieting down and mellowing out could give them room to open up. YOU closing up would be a shock and maybe even be taken as mimicking and poking fun, so I suggest a gradual lowering of YOUR volume, tint, hue etc... according to the noticeable increases in THEIRS.

I have exactly the same experience. Do not change, cause I did once and I lost my personality, and its taken a long time to get it back. Think of you love for them and relate to them when you can, in your similarities. But Do not change. You will soon move out when you can, its pain but relate to your friends and love your family.

Some people just don't like expessing themselves, even to the ones they love. It doesn't mean that they're any better or worse than you.........just different. Don't try and be like them, it'll just make you miserable, but maybe you can find a friend to open up to rather then your family.

Stay being yourself. No two people are the same and if they were supposed to be then they would be clones. You will be alot more satisfied in the end by just being yourself

you shouldn't act like them. you should just ignore them and live your own life until you're good to move out.
