The local meteorologist here (New Orleans area) says that the best time will be after 10 p.m. on until early a.m. However, we have a waning moon so therefore might not be able to see as many as we would like. Hope you get to see some meteors tonight. And thanks to Hurricane Katrina I now have a better skyline since all the trees were blown down.

i recognize i appreciate the east coast....I actually have spent a honest era of time in Maine over the years. I actually have in straightforward words visited the west coast once....I went to San Francisco and Seattle with my mom at the same time as i replaced into 16....and that i loved that as well....I extremely loved the San Francisco Bay section. i imagine i could likely want to work out slightly more effective of the west coast in the previous making a judgement in this one.

i'm going to watch the showers too! they should be going all night, but the best time is after midnight... peaking actually right before sunrise which is 6am. during the peak, there should be an average of 60 meteors an hour. have fun!

Sometimes you only see a few. The Perseids aren't what they used to be.
You WILL see more if you can get as far away from all streetlights as possible ... I used to drive way out in the country.
UNFORTUNATELY !!! the Moon is full tonight, ALL night, so you'll only see the flashy ones. So, bring your iPod or Significant Other.
