Even when wearing them properly, women get sick and die. No on cares about this?

Today about half of all TSS cases are linked to menstruation. So its not just tampons that TSS. And also TSS is also very rare so dont start scaring people. I think before a girl starts using them she should research them online to see what could happen. I use them and they are so comfortable. I am 14. But I also use pads sometimes. Girls use them because it doesnt feel that your wearing anything. You just have to get the hang of putting them on when you barely start. By the way people dont automaticaly die if they get TSS they should just get medical attention right away if they feel any of the symptoms.

I have never heard that. The only way I have heard you could die was from TSS. And you have to wear them for over 9 hours anyways. I personally don't use them because they are painful to get in. But I guess it is because many people aren't educated of that fact, and if they are, don't really care. It's kind of like smoking cigarettes, people know it could kill them, but do it anyways.

Yeah, thats why women should pay attention more. We had many women come in and say they forgot they had a tampon and inserted another one and they couldnt take it out. so when we ask when was this they say yesturday or a few days ago. Or even this one they forgot they had one and they had sex and then remembered and couldnt take it out. So women out there if you are gonna use them remember if you took it out or not. If you tend to forget things just stick with pads. k

I don't understand why women use them, but I think that the real problem isn't necessarily the tampon so much as it the girls who are using them. Women need to remember to change them, we remember to change pads, so we need to remember to change tampons too, especially with the risks they pose.

Good question, but It should be obvious. Troops in Iraq are in Iraq so it would be difficult for them to kill women in the US.

Tampons do not kill that many women.
There are many ways to get TSS. Improper use of tampons is one possible cause. It is a very rare disease.
Stop trying to scare people.

I didn't know that..it's the first time I heard of this....
I think women needs to be educated about the risk and dangers of tampons.....cuz I am sure alot of women use them but doesn't know the risk they carry for example: ME!

i care, and i rarely use pads..i mean change your tampon every so often, and so it is clean, you shouldnt have to worry about dying, cause you wont have an infection....women who die, forget abou them, or dont know how to use them properly, or have dirty hands....etc...

You prove a good point. I wear tampons, but then again, my period hasn't regulated so I only need them every two months for 4 days. I dunno how to really answer that, but it's something to think about.

i never heard of this? unlessur reffering to toxic shock syndrome which is the woman doesnt change it for so long she dies from it cuz it kind of like poisoned her? thats why i dont use them..people u have tochange them
