Yes! And why in God's name does it stand for Potassium? Ego problems if you ask me.

The ancient Romans originally used K as the only letter for the sound, but later, the letter C became used for both G and K sounds. Later, the letter g sound was given the letter G, then C became used for the k sound. The letter k probably regained use with the changing sound of c before e and i in languages after Latin.

Yes, it does seem out of place. I will contact the Department in Washington and have the letter K done away with.

i think that it is beautiful...but i find "imperfections" attractive in people (and letters).
