You took American citizenship, and the obligations, but along with that comes freedom, as many must be reminded. We are not perfect here.

You swore an oath to be a good citizen of the U.S. and that is where your true loyalty should be. Country first, then family, then religion. Jews did not come to Israel after WW2 to terrorize the Arabs, but to return to what they considered a homeland since Moses led them there. The original sons of Abraham were the cause in the split of religion between Jew and what became the Moslems. Jelousy between two sons continues because one was seen more favored over the other by the mothers. If Islam truely preaches peace, it should stand along Christianity, not fight it. Jews were persecuted in Europe by Christians, especially Catholics, who say they were the cause of Jesus' death. Hitler persecuted them and killed them because he felt the Jewish bankers were the cause of his father's ruin in business and why Germany was repressed after WW1. The Torah, the Quoran, and the Bible are all good books, but people have to stop trying to emulate the Old Testament and other passages which practice "eye-for-an-eye" type practices and learn to modernize thinking to get along together

Man what a thought, you have to understand though the reason so called Jews enjoy the infamy they have received over a couple millenia is because the very concept of Jews as the chosen people of God is race supremacist... now some will say Judaism is a religion not a race and that anyone can become a Jew... as far as race goes Semite fits the bill... as far as becoming one who wants to have their penis cut for that oppurtunity? Anyhow your loyalty should be to the country that you call your own... my loyalty is to America whether good or bad cause I love it's people even though the Jews have been using divide and conquer tactics with it's populous... I still care greatly for the land where I was born....

You are a Lebanese-American, from now on use the hyphen whenever you refer your heritage. You allegiance to both countries does not have to fade.

Use you knowledge of Lebanon to educate Americans on the history (good and bad) of Lebanon. Inform them of the plight of the poeple. By dissenting from the governement's stand YOU are acting as an American as it is your right to do so!!! YOU can thus support your heritage and your country.

Shame on all of you who said the asker can not be both. Would you for a second suggest the same of an Israeli-American who asked this question? Are you all not proud of your family's heritage?

Why can't they live in peace? Because both sides blame the other. Hezbollah did start this. The Lebonese did refuse to stop them. Israel did go overboard. The Arabs are not just victims they're active participants in this war. Arab states refuse to believe Israel has a right to exist. Israel refuses to give back all the land. It's sad.

But you are an American. If you want to be Lebanese you need to live in Lebanon.

If you are an American, then you need to back America. It's irrelevant as to what Hitler did or what the Jews are doing now, or Hezbollah or anyone else. You can have empathy for your old countrymen, but as an American you swore allegiance to the USA, and if you were born here you owe your allegiance to the USA.

If you're an American citizen, your LOYALTY should be to the United States. You can certainly hope that your native land recovers and that the terrorists (Hezbollah) will be wiped out, but your True Loyalty should now be to the US. You are now an American of Lebanese descent.

From your question you come across as biased against Israel and no one can change your mind about that. If you're a citizen of both countries, your loyalty should be both. But I can tell it's with Lebanon so you already know the answer to your question.

America, you chose to come here and become part of america.Israel is trying to get rid of the hezbollah not the Lebanese people.Do Israeli's strap bombs on their children to kill other innocent people?Do they hide behind children in school so as not to get attacked. No but Hezbollah does. The only way they can live in peace is getting rid of Hezbollah and with all due respect if Lebannon had taken care of this themselves,Israel wouldnt be there now.The Lebanese need to stand up to these cowards and get rid of them.I know you are torn with your heritage and your roots, but try to under stand what Israel is trying to do.God bless your good people. And God bless you and all involved.

There is no riding the fence here buddy! Either you are an American or you are Lebanese. Can't have the best of both worlds. No matter what my heritage I am a full blooded American and I am proud of that fact.
