I would have to say no. ONLY because the V is very hard to play while sitting down. I know they look cool but you'll regret it.

I agree with Dan, They are impossible to play sitting down. A cool looking guitar is not going to make you a guitar player ! It takes years of practice a dedication. I would recommend a Fender Squire for a beginner. They are the best sounding, easiest playing, low priced guitar on the market. I'd suggest a Peavey amp for the same reason....

I find they play nicely but I've been playing for a long time. Strat's are perhaps easier to play. Epiphone Les Pauls' are good starter's axes.
The easiest guitar to play is air....

Sure , why not! They are good guitars, not exactly a "1st" guitar but better to start on that than some ol' cheapo thing with a bent neck and strings that are a mile above the frets.

we don't care for epiphone in our house, we prefer washburn, but on a good electric for a beginner it needs to be a good one, and make sure the strings are close to the neck, it makes it easier to play, and they won't want to give up. we had our boys learn on an acoustic first.
