another petroleum based product are usually pretty good. Also found this Formula 88 stuff down here in Miami area that actually isnt petroleum based and it works awesome. clean my 2 cars with it and with all the construction i drive thru i get all the road tar and it works great.

Firstly, never use gasoline or thinners. It will ruin your clearcoat. Try using rubbing alcohol or wd-40. I had tree sap on my car, and I used rubbing alcohol, and off the tree sap went. But of course, rubbing the tar off will take a long time. Took me 10 minutes to take off the tree sap.

Whatever you do, you'll end up having to refinish the paint. Don't do it until this tar has really dried on the road.

Use your sleeveless flannel shirt and some of that there gasoline in the mason jar under yer front porch. Just kiddin' dude.

i had tar on my car once and i used kerosene.(but dont rub too much,or it will fade the paint)then wax the car.

just use a good paste wax and a terry cloth towel all of those "spray's" strip the wax and you have to wax it again anyway so skip the spray
