There is no train station in State College, however Altoona might have one. There is a greyhound station that runs buses everywhere. But a year ago they eliminated most express buses out of state college so you will probably have a long ride. You should try to find a Penn State message board about sharing rides.

No, I don't think so. I am from Pa and I went to Penn State years ago and I never had a problem finding a ride to Allentown. Just look at the boards in the buildings and dorms or post your own. Good luck.

No practice is going directly to State college. Nearest stops for Amtrak are Tyrone or Huntingdon, yet there's no thank you to get from those cities to State college, different than taxi. because of the fact the only poster mentioned, you are able to take Amtrak to Harrisburg and then capture the bus, or take the bus directly to State college, that's probable greater low priced. yet an alternate decision is to fly, however the cost might easily be prohibitive.

Best way is to go Greyhound, and leave the driving to them!
