Well it all depends on how one interpret the word 'dream'. If it is merely a daydream then it is merely a fantasy but if you are talking about someone whose dream is to be successful , then well to me it could be used as a driving force in Life to make that dream into a target and eventually a goal in Life. Hence it provides that person with the drive to achieve what he once merely "dream" about.

A lot of diagnosis on dreams, but the most common I have found is---it is a way for your mind to "shed" memories that are not relevant to your life. Forget quacks who pretend to interpret dreams. Usually dreams occur before or during REM (rapid eye movement) which is body's way to getting into deep sleep.

Frequent or violent dreams suggest sleep apnia or disorder. "Healthy" dreams are usually the ones that are pleasant, or inconsequential. What we call "nightmares" can actually be good for your mind, as it is mind's way of reliving a horrible movement without affecting your body.

In simple
1.You are desiring something strongly that strikes in the form of dream
or
2.You are scared of something that works in your dream.
or
3.You are to take some decisions for which your dreams are assisting.
Try one of the above.

A dream allows your mind to think, unwind and escape. Ever notice how young girls are so happy "playing house"? They have escaped the humdrum world into the world of fantasy.
