What are the benefits Americans could be assured of in the sacrifices of American lives in Iraq. Americans have been playing non appreciative roles as "Policeman" and "Peacekeepers" for too long.....what should we do?

Yes, it breaks several hearts to know we have men over there giving up their life for another country. HOWEVER, you have to realize that we shed blood on our own soil, that's something we can't live with, something we shouldn't have to live with. A lot of people lost their lives over here, and for what? We went there to make sure what occurred never occurs again. So far we've done a pretty good job. Yes we have to go through extra steps when flying, and there's been threats, but we have to live with it. We should stay where we are and continue to help. It's not like Bush is making people go there against their will. A lot of people that went there went because they wanted to. What was going on there was a crime against humanity. How could we live with ourselves knowing we could have helped but didn't. We're doing the right thing being there.

There has been too much hatred amongst the sects in Iraq. Nothing anybody can do can prevent a civil war. How many nations have been formed throughout history without a civil war?
This is a necessary part of a new Iraq. Just let it happen

More dead and wounded, the opportunity to put billions more down that drain....this Iraq war was a failure from the start from the faked intelligence to the manipulation of the American public, to the missing WMDs to the false linking to 9/11...check the link:

The only thing we can do is try to get Iraqis trained as quickly as possible to take over the roles that US troops are currently playing. Leaving immediately would leave a vacuum even greater than exists currently.

They should face the East and start marching.

Iraq is a staging area for Persia. Now that they are in a support mode they are ready to march to Tehran.

there are no benefits. this is a war for oil and a way to make g.w. seem like he's actually doing something to benefit this country when in truth he is single handedly destroying it. how appathetic. and we are calling ourselves peacemakers when we are destroying our tiny world.
