Let's face it: comic book and animation enthusiasts are often (not always) distinctly seperate creatures. While occasionally converging on a single title, they usually do not enjoy both regularly.

Let's send Yahoo! a message: it's time to have both a comic book AND an animation catagory. We, as both fans of the mediums and Yahoo! faithful, deserve it!

I know, I know, it sounds pretentious, but so what?

10 points for a protest phrase that will win the cold-hearted executives over.

Perhaps instead of a "split", there could be a refinement of the category. One category for cartoons and comics and another for anime and manga (or graphic comics if you prefer).

I know some will say that manga and comics are the same and anime and cartoons are the same but there are quite different culturally. You certainly can't compare Shrek and Ghost in the Shell...that's like comparing apples to oranges.

I don't know if this is a good protest phrase but here it goes:

Expand the world of Yahoo! Answers, recognize the cultures of animation and anime, of comics and graphic novels....refine the category of comics and animation!!

I agree, but on the other hand being an anime fan in the midst of comic fans doesn't really bother me. The way I see it, (and I know I'm gonna get hell for this from somebody) we're the same, just two sides of the same coin. And I don't see any reason to become isolationists. I mean, generally we stick to our respective fandoms anyway.

But it would be nice to diversify the category too. So, I guess, imho, either way is fine with me.

I think the same thing at times, but really, is this board so overly crowded with questions?

When you split a board, it means double the effort if you're interested in both.

Plus, if you have a question that crosses boundaries, you have to ask it twice.

So I can tolerate the anime questions until Yahoo! improves their board for more efficient searches and postings.

I agree . . . and what's more, let's have a separate page for anime as well! I mean, y'all have a section just for HOROSCOPES, no reason why we shouldn't split this further. This guy isn't the first person to ask this question either.
