it all determines what kind of eyeliner you put on i would use liquid eyeliner since you know how to put it on and it will come off a lot easier and it wont hurt it might burn the first couple times you use it expecially if you get it in your eye but after that you will just be use to it so the burning will go away

If you are using a pencil liner there is an easier way. Use a eye liner brush, it's thin with a slanted line brush top and black eye shadow. You damp the brush and then put the shadow on the brush. Gently apply shadow to your eye like a liner. Rubbing the brush across the eyelid won't work you need to do it in a dabbing motion. Like this ----------- but of course without the blank spaces in them. I find it's the most effective way. Plus when you buy a black shadow you get two purposes for it now, or eyeliner for a very long time because each application only takes very little shadow.

Are you trying to put it on the "lip" of your eye or right below your eyelashes? I put mine on right below, not only does it not injure your eye, but it gives you an "open" eye look rather than a squinted eye look. If your pencil is too sharp, make small circles on your wrist to make sure that the point has been rounded just a little bit and also if you have wood edges from sharpening your pencil you will feel it before you scrap your eye. If you are still unsure how to apply it properly most cosmetic counters at the mall have "free" make ups done as promotions or you can pay to get your make up professionally done and they can show you the best way.

Be sure that your eyeliner pencil is sharpened properly. If you're wearing your eyeliner inside your eye, maybe your eyes are too sensitive. You may have to start wearing your eyeliner on the outside of your eye, on the rim.
You can use liquid eyeliner, but it's harder to use then the pencil. It may go on smoother, but you'll have to practice alot to be sure o how to use it right.
If when you put on eyeliner & you make an error, q-tips are great for a quick touch me up repair.

Are you using pencil or liquid? Pencil may hurt if you don't have it sharpened all the way. That's happened to me before. If it still hurts, try liquid. I don't know how that will hurt...
Also, if you are having problems with it turning out right ask your mom/sister/girl in your family for help. Practice, practice, practice!
Good luck!

make sure (if you use a pencil) is sharp but not razor sharp. You may want to try liquid eye liner, or the kind that comes in a tube( no wood involved)

Many companies make a "self-sharpening" formula. It comes in a plastic tube that you twist up like you would a tube of lipstick.
This tends to be a bit softer and user friendly.
