Can anyone give me suggestions as to which I should change to and why (the reasons they are good I mean)? I know of Firefox as an alternative. I use Internet Explorer and have the option of BT Yahoo Browser, but I find that BT yahoo Browser cuts out parts of pages when I play games such as Pogo. I have tried to download Opera once and I couldn't for the life of me work out how to use it. But I really want to move away from IE. Can anyone help? TIA

Mozilla Firefox or Opera are the best, safest alternatives to Internet Explorer. Please note that the correct address for Firefox is

http://www.mozilla.com

Never download from any other address.

You can also get plugins for Firefox, including one to read PDF documents, and one to add Java. Only get these from the Mozilla website, never download from another source. There's a lot of people giving fake downloads that install Trojans.

Firefox will always be safer for your p.c. for one essential reason; it doesn't support Active X. Thats a Microsoft technology, its used to make websites more interesting and interactive. If you already know a site is safe its fine to go there using I.E.
But if you're just trawling the web, using I.E. with Active X enabled is just asking for trouble, it can be used to load malicious software. If you don't know how to use your security settings in I.E., never use it to visit an unknown site.

Firefox is a good browser, I frequently use it. you should word besides the undeniable fact that, that there are web pages that both look wonky or do merely not artwork in any respect in browsers except IE. So keep your IE close to with the help of, merely in case.

The new IE 7 is good, it is like an improved version of firefox .

otherwise, firefox is quite good, but do check out IE 7 , it is available from Microsoft download page.

Firefox users immediately find it familiar , with added functionality .

My boyfriend is really good with computers, and he uses firefox. He says it's great and he'd never use IE. He always tries to make me get firefox too, but I don't want to, I'm too lazy.

IE is fine IF you keep MS Updates, antispyware, antivirus & your firewall (if DSL/Cable Modem) up to date.

I have had zero probs w/ IE to date. The only beta software on my PC is Defender - but that's only one of five antispywares I've got loaded.

Remember, if you switch to Firefox and MS issues a security patch in Updates, you'll not be notified.

I never use anything but Firefox, since I made the switch I have been getting about one piece of spyware per week, before the switch it was around 20 per day. You do the math and try to imagine how much faster your computer will run.

First suggest trying the new IE beta 3. its a lot like firefox. Just has minor problems with sertain things. they are working on in though.

Firefox i like a lot, and used to have it, but i dont want to download it again. i hate having multiple things, and my family prefers IE

I will deside when final IE comes out

But seriously, right now im using IE beta 3 and it feels like firefox.

I've used Firefox and Thunderbird (email client) for years and love them for security reasons and ease of use. Whatever you decide to go with don't remove IE - you'll be forced to use it on Microsoft's sites for Windows updates and playing games on MSN.

I would fully recommend Firefox. It's the safest and most secure web browser out there.
