If you're asking to what extent the continents and shorelines of 23 BC differed from those of today, the answer is there is almost no difference. There have been no significant changes in the last 8,000 years.

despite what some may think was a totally barbaric world, the fact is that it wasn't.
there were indeed maps of the world, but these were limited geographically.
remember, Rome at this time had a Julius Caesar, Rome was at the crossroads between staying a Republic or becoming an Empire. But, to get to the point; they were advanced enough to have fairly good maps of their area.
China too, had good maps. their "empire" was around for a very long time before this.
*** the ancient world map as we see it today would look like big chunks of land ruled by one "power." it would look nothing like today with countless countries sharing the world. it was a time for the strong (superpowers), instead of having respect for your neighbor

In 23 BC which has actually been changed to BCE (before current era) the people were to uncivilized still to have even been able to invent a map, so there was no world map in 23 BCE.
