Does anyone write to female inmates?

I found a site, http://www.cowtowninfo.com/personals/jai... that lists personals ads from female inmates along with their mailing addresses. I'm wondering if this is a scam or if these are real people. Some of the ads read as though they are truly nice women who have made wrong choices along the way, but deep down they are more victim of circumstances (such as drug abuse) than bad people.

Has anyone written to any of these ladies? What has been your experience? Are they after more than friendship?

Let's put the "all inmates are people with feelings/emotions" liberal crap aside for a second. Anyone seeking a pen-pal relationship with prison inmates, of any sex, are asking for trouble.

One: You risk contacting a rather dangerous individual, who may have an "itch to scratch" when they get out....and sex isn't on the agenda.

Two: Sure. Prison inmates get lonely, but you can bet 99.9% of ALL prison inmates are seeking a "money connection". Emphasis on CONnection, because they'll work at securing some $$$$ from you in no time flat. And should you decide to dry up the $$$ well, watch how fast they no longer want anything to do w/ you.

Three: It's every prison inmate's focus to get out as fast as possible. Inmates seeking "points/credits" for early release can, in most states, rack up some by incarcerated marriage. But once they're paroled, the wedding bell cracks pretty quickly.

The nicer and kind hearted a person is, the more a target for scamming they become to prison inmates. With that in mind, it's really best to keep clear of inmates and let them work out their own life choices.

Well, no one has responded to your question for 3 days. So that's not a good sign. I don't know if it is legit. I do imagine women in prison have a desire for connection and companionship as strong as most people on the outside.

I have written to a few, one of hem was a direct con nection the rest were just trying to survive. The only money I have sent is to someone that uses it to call me and her personal needs. Cowtowninfo is a good site for pen pals some get out and marry their person of interest.
