I don't think I'd have asked the question in the same manner you did, because it's going to attract a lot of rude responses.

I understand where you're coming from, however. Both major political parties in America are controlled by the fringes ... who are no longer interested in public service, but in perpetuating their power base.

I'm a moderate Republican who was a Democrat until that party "left me". Now, the GOP has done the same thing.

There is painfully little room in either party for someone who has thoughtful positions on one issue that mirror one party's position, and an equally thoughtful position on another issue favored by the other party.

Both have the mentality that you must be "either for us or against us".

Neither cares any longer about what is good for America ... just what is good for themselves. Totally sad and unconsciounable.

I believe that as long as there are people there will be corruption, but the Democratic Party is the lesser of the two evils.

easily. i'd be balloting for Obama because he's a lot less undesirable. And, in this I mean he fights for the little guy somewhat more effective than his opponent. nevertheless leaves a lot to be wanted. As on your 2d aspect, about perponderence of perception, yea... as a center left human being, my settlement ratio is about sixty 5:35, Obama:Romney

yes, i think some of the smaller 3rd parties are more prone to listen to the common man, but they dont have the strength to make a big change in this country.

so out of the 2 large parties - no i think they are in it for themselves and to accomplish their own agenda for power and wealth.

The only one that is going to help the common man, is the common man.

Politicians already have money. They care about the power people give them. In turn that's the only power the people have.
