I just switched my 1 year old daughter from formula to soy milk a few days ago and BM's are really hard & stinky, is this normal? She takes it well otherwise.

It is normal, but does not mean she is constipated. I found out my son was lactose intolerate, despite my pediatrician pushing milk based formula on me and when I stopped that and listening to my friends that had kids did I find out that the soy product, albeit a wee bit pricier, was a much better alternative for my child's digestive tract and not feeling pain over a product that he could not process internally.

Constipation could be from sensitivity to formulation or cows milk. i could try rice or soy milk, as you stated. they could be much less puzzling on toddler's tummy, yet whilst this did not help i could seek for the advice of a pediatrician. Constipation could be an illustration of alternative, extra severe situations, and however those situations are uncommon, in case you have switched around formulation/milk without fulfillment, that's superb to ascertain it out with your toddler's medical expert.

Yes soy milk can constipate babies and it shouldn't be given to at least 3 yrs old

SOY IS NOT BAD AND YOU CAN GIVE IT TO YOUR BABIES.
IT SAVED MY NIECES LIFE......her intestines were blocked from not being able to digest regular formulas. The doctor put her on soy and she completely recovered.....my son got totally sick and rashy from regular formula and my breast milk and the doctor gave him soy formula and he was fine after a couple of feedings no vomiting or rashes after that.
my advice try giving her more water it will help with the hardness.
