I know that it is a muscle relaxer. it has been prescribed for my friend of 86 years young and now she is experiencing aching all over and her entire left side is like she has had a stroke. I want to know if anyone knows the side effects of the medicine.

Hon, you should be getting your friend to a doctor. While "aching all over" is not listed as a side effect, even if it was, it would warrant immediate notification of the doctor. I am more concerned about your comment: "her entire left side is like she has had a stroke". A stroke is nothing to fool with and so the appearance of a stroke should be a warning to seek help immediately. If your friend has not seen a doctor since you posted this, please make sure she does so...immediately!

As to the side effects of Skelaxin, they are: stomach upset, nausea, constipation, dry mouth, headache, blurred vision, lightheadedness, dizziness or drowsiness the first few days until your body adjusts to the medication.

Serious side effects can include mental or mood changes, signs of infection (persistent sore throat, fever), yellowing eyes or skin, unusual tiredness, fast or pounding heartbeat, trouble urinating, or worsening of seizures.

Serious allergic reaction symptoms are rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness or trouble breathing.
