YOU KNOW im not really sure, its wierd because its much easier to make something square or rectangle with dough, than a circle....
and considering a slice of a pizza is a "slice" I think thats the best name for the shape :)
Thanks for the question! :)

Dough starts out as a ball shape and is spread will a rolling pin to which creates a circular shape upon spreading. You could call a slice of pizza a cut since that is what you do to it.

I don't really know why pizzas are round...It's one of the great mysteries of life.
I've always reffered to triangular pizza slices as breadtangles of pizza. There are also breadpazoids, braqures, brurcles, breadallelograms, and brhombuses of pizza. ;)

Pizza is shaped by putting the dough on your fists and slowing working it round, they naturally come out round....unless you had square fists I guess.

It'd be hard to make a square pizza without a pan, as most pizzas do not need a pan to be created.

When you toss the dough in the air and spin it, it tends to naturally go round.
But Party size is usually rectangular, so obviously party size is too big to spin like that.
