UK english is the same as American english. We both speak english. It is just different accents or dialects that we use. There are some differences though.

If you are talking about just learning to use the British accent,
did you know that Great Britain is the island made from THREE countries: England, Scotland and Wales, all with many distinctive regional accents and dialects. To complicate matters further, the "United Kingdom" also includes these countries' surrounding islands and Northern Ireland, and "The British Isles" incuding the rest of Ireland too.

Your best bet would to look at some of the BBC sites and listen to their broadcasters talking. You will have to mimic and practice how they speak.

This site offers a list of some differences in American and British english: http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/grammar/learnit/learnitv123.shtml

Just navigate the column on the left side of the page for more information and unique "Learning english" information and tools.

Good luck.
