First of all, I'm a 21 year old female, 5'2", 150 lbs (overweight). I am taking 2 capsules of 1200mg Flax Oil, 1000mg Vitamin C, 600mg Calcium, 400IU Vitamin E, Vitamin B Complex, 2 capsules of Blue Green Algae, 2 capsules of 500mg of pure Hoodia, 75mg of Effexor (for anxiety) and one Yasmin birth control pill. That's 12 different pills. Not all are taken at the same time though. Am I being overzealous?

I am considering gradually going off the Effoexor, but I am SCARED that I'll freak out or something without it...Lol! I do see a psychotherapist regularly. I will talk more to her about that.
I take individual pills so that I will absorb enough of the vitamin. Daily vitamins all thrown into one pill are less effective because your body doesn't absorb everything.

Personally I'd switch to a multivitamin with EGCG 32mg. I'm 25 and overweight and have had some luck with just the One A Day pills for weight controll. The weight comes off slowly but it's healthier that way. I've lost 50lbs in the past 6 months with the combo of the vitamin and eating right. If you want to take something else for the weight controll, I had good luck with Farenheit and Accellis recently. Of course not both at the same time. As far as the Effexor talk to your doctor about getting off of it. It's not the best of medications to be taking and with all the other things you take, there could be an interaction that you are unaware of. Plus some herbal medications tend to reduce the effectiveness of birth controll pills. (I'm a pharmacy technician btw)

No that sounds pretty good. The Effexor and the birth control pill could cause weight gain. Psychotherapy could help you overcome your anxiety so you could get off the Effexor and there are other methods for birth control other than the pill such as an IUD. Your vitamins and herbs are great for your immune system, your heart and your bones. There are great self help books if you cannot afford psychotherapy. Anxiety can be overcome with understanding the problem and having tools to deal with it. The birth control pill could be contributing to your anxiety too. Life is a journey of discovery to see what works best to keep you balanced, healthy and happy. Best wishes in your quest!

Get off the Effexor - it is poison. But do it slowly, and talk with your doctor first (notice how if you miss a dose your lips get numb? how could something like this be good?) I would add 5-HTP and glutamine. I take several amino acid supplements daily, plus B complex, C, E and flax oil. I don't think you are doing anything wrong except for the Effexor.

You can go to your doctor and get a blood test called CBC (complete blood count) and this will be able to tell you whether or not you are taking too much. If you dont have insurance this test can cost anywhere from $10-$50. You will need to call around and find the cheapeast place. The results will be the same seeing as how it is your blood.

YES!
Most of what you need can be obtained simply through healthy eating. None of those pills is a magic potion to weight loss.
Eat healthy, eat frequently in small portions, watch your total caloric intake and exercise.
At best you may need to take one or two vitamins, but not 12!

A doctor from the old school once told me, don't take anything unless it is 100% necessary. This doctor never prescribes drugs unjudiciously. Today, before you finish telling a doctor what is wrong, he is already writing out some perscription for you.

I don't see anything out of line, though I wonder why you don't take a multi-vitamin that contains the Vit C, Calcium, Vit E, Vit Bs just to make it easier on yourself (less pills to take!)
