go to start button go to programs and look up start up- then if any thing is in the start up when u log on say like messenger, click it drag that program to another replace so there is nothing in ur start up menu ok.. u need not have anything to start up when u log on except ur avg anitvirus or norton mcafee etc but know that will lag u a bit but its safe.. add lavasoft and get rid of key loggers that are crap spy ware etc delete history and cookies daily set history in ur Internet option in tool bar to 0 days u need not have like 20 days of history if like a site write it down or put it in favs. this all lags a comp - also if u load music compress it.clik that folder of music the title Say the group right clik it it will say properties then hit advance then compress it ready for archiving this way it uses less space to make a CD and in ur comp - i may suggest to move music out of drive to D drive media.. as well as c drives get the load.. i partitioned my off into 3 sections give u more space .. u may also have a worm so check it out.

Clean the start up, eliminating programs you don't need that much.
Defragment your disc drive(s). Add RAM.
And possibly consider getting a faster computer.
I assume you have checked that you have no viruses since everyone knows about that by now?
