fresh fruit, nuts, a handful of air-popped popcorn. you can spread peanut butter on apple slices for a quick, nutritious, and yummy snack. or make a bag of your own trail mix, and carry that with you.
also get a big nalgene water bottle, fill it up at the beginning of the day, and try to have it finished before lunch. fill it up again at lunch. you have to pee a lot, but it means you're hydrated.

I would suggest nuts
they give you the "good" fats, lots of protein, which will give you energy, they are affordable, and portable and just a handful will keep you satisfied.
