When taking Lipitor, you will need to have your liver checked all the time you are on this medication. There is another drug called Zetia, that doesn't affect the liver so much, it goes through the digestive system. Ask your doctor about it and if it will work for you.

Lipitor does help lower the bad cholesterol and helps to raise the good cholesterol. However, it would need to be discussed with your doctor. Many medications have warnings about kidney disease excessive alcohol intake, and things like that. No drug is safe. You keep taking these poisons for an extended period of time , something is going to give. Your body organs starts to breakdown. Fosamax is the latest drug facing a class action suit, because it cause erosion of the jawbone for some people. It seems like every couple of months, you hear about another drug company being sued for unsafe drugs.
