Am I counted as an expert if I accompanied my guinea pig all by ability of the being pregnant? nicely in any case certain, she is amazingly close, because that's been about 2 months. Iff that's been later than 2 months get her to the vet speedy! also if she is older than 8 months and has no longer given start in the previous, then a c-section will be necessary. because of this you do not breed guinea pigs deliberately... yet she may have being pregnant toxemia! She could die from it interior an afternoon, yet certain likely.

Is his breathing labored? Guinea pigs tend to get respiratory infections quite easily. I would put a bit of Tang (tm) (The orange flavored drink) in his water to give him a vitamin C boost. Then call your vet and ask if they do "pocket pets". Find one who does!

A guinea pig is not a throw away animal. Anyone who thinks that they are should not own an animal. And the poster who suggests taking a shovel to your pig is scary to me. That is the type of person who turns into an animal abuser and child abuser.

His front teeth my be over-grown. If the teeth are too long they can't bite any of their food. My guinea pig was losing weight and not eating and that's when I discovered that her teeth were over- grown. Because she wouldn't chew on her chew sticks or mineral wheel [as she is suppose to] to keep her teeth from over-growing.

Unless you've had him for about 8yrs then it's not time for him to die yet. They live for about 8yrs. Mine is about 4 now and doing better since her teeth were taken care of.

My advice would be to take yours to a vet and find out for sure. Look in your phone book for a vet that deals with exotic pets. Our caveys are considered exotic. Who knew? Good luck

Your guinea pig is definetally sick. You could try hand feeding it but that would probably be a waist of time. your best bet would be to take it to the vet asap.
