after an orchid has flowered do you cut the storks? and if so how far down do you cut them???

OH YESSSSS! YESSSS! YESSSSS!

I go out and dig up the bones of James J. Audobon, put the orchids through the eyeholes, and then fling nets over every chimney in town.

Then I chop those nasty, ugly, dirty storks to PIECES, PIECES, PIECES, I tell you!

Feathers and bird blood everywhere!

I cut them all the way down to their tiny little ugly bird feet!

You are SO special! No one else knows about my fascination with orchids and storks! (Ummm, OK, until NOW, that is)

Cut the stork 2 or 3 buds from the base,( small rings around the stork ) , cut 5mm above and you will get new growth from a bud or the base. It has always worked for me, good luck.

orchids do not like central heating so keep outside in summer they need no attention apart from re potting one size up otherwise its like a baby in a double bed

If the stalk is brown, cut it near the base. If it's still green, leave it alone, some of them will continue blooming....
